At the age of 100, Jocleta Wilson is still not ready to retire – but she is ready to share her tips for a long life.
Wilson works two mornings a week, from 6am to 10am, at a home warehouse in Louisville, Kentucky – making it the oldest company employee in SH.BA
The centenary applied to work to associate and engage with people after the pensioner upset him.
“That because I want to communicate with people,” Wilson Wave 3 news told. “If you are not working, you lose your art of conversation.
“I’ve retired three times. Whenever it was 10 years old, and I’m so ill by myself, I couldn’t bear it, ”she said.
She celebrated her latest birthday of the moment last October with a living shindig in her home, featuring two piano players and 80 guests, and a “big holiday” organized by Home Depot.
Wilson lives independently in her home, directing herself to work and in the store, not to mention cooking for herself.
She hires help for cleaning and yard work, explaining today.com with laughing, “I can do it but I don’t want. I’m getting a little smarter at this age.”
But Wilson doesn’t necessarily feel her age.
“I feel like I’m 39 years old going to 40 years old. So she feels,” she noted.
The energetic woman is a survivor of breast cancer with emphysema, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and a cardiac, but insists that “everything else works simply well” and remains extremely active as she has her entire life.
“You can’t sweat the little things. So, I just don’t think about it, ”she said.
Wilson was a professional dancer for much of her life, starting as a child and later performing with June Taylor dancers doing rhythm.
For 37 years, she owned and taught at the Louisville Dance Academy and still danced every day. She uses her speaker Alexa to play music that inspires her to release loose.
“I have radio everywhere. Thank you kindness for Alexa. I tell her to play something that is really good to get into, and I have it, “she said.” I let go and move and do what I want to do, and feels good. This is my exercise. ”
Wilson embraces creativity, which she believes is essential for a fulfilling life.
Along with the dance, she wrote a cooking book, Paints – she has an Instagram page showing her artwork, available for shopping – sings and is learning piano.
Her healthy diet is also very important to her. After being diagnosed with cancer three times, she recalled the tips from a nurse: “Cancer is fed with sugar.”
So she left it – more or less.
“I always have a chocolate cake in my refrigerator,” she admitted, as she allows herself the sweet occasional treatment. “I get a slice, but maybe once a week.” It also holds the ice cream in the refrigerator and has a tablespoon once in a while.
She has also given up bacon and cheese after high cholesterol issues and now only eats lean protein and avoids white flour.
But her tips for a long life have nothing to do with diet or exercise.
“I always say: don’t sweat the little things. Don’t worry. Don’t let everything angry you. Anger gets a lot of muscle and very well from your life, ”Wilson said.
“It is much easier to think positive than to think negative. It takes much less effort. And that’s what I try to do.”
